When custom home builder Homespace Builds was approached to design and build a two-story family home on a large corner block at Donnybrook in Melbourne’s north, the homeowners were looking for a façade to make a statement.
Located on a corner block on a busy road, the Donnybrook home was to feature large windows requiring well-insulated walls, while achieving a singular look both inside and out for a spacious and open-plan family home.
The company was also facing building materials scarcity and supply chain issues, which would lead to delays and cost blowouts.
They needed a solution that was affordable and available, and offered speed and ease of construction to get to lock up stage quicker, while delivering on the luxury architectural finish that the homeowner was looking for.
